Check alloy wheels on SE Sport models for corrosion (’bubbling’).

I would see if this occurs on all four wheels. If it's just one it could simply be poor quality laquer sprayed into the wheel following a wheel refurb, or where corrison has set in around or near surface damage.

Other explanation is the use of harsh wheel cleaners, like those used by car valeting at supermarket car parks. Autoglym Clean Wheels (available from Halfords) is also pretty harsh stuff.
