Title: GD1 spark plugs question
Post by: TheFlyingPostman on July 27, 2019, 10:43:54 AM
Hello, I was curious what type of spark plugs as a OEM for Jazz 1.4DSI? I had a few misfire on engine cylinder number two. I took one spark plug out and find the condition on the head is very poor but is not a Iridium it is normal head spark plug with no trader name on it probably a cheap aftermarket. I guess it have change by the previous owner who don't pay the premium spark plug.

Which spark plug is the best for gain power and better to burn iridium or the triple head spark plug?

Whatever you choose, don't forget that each cylinder has two spark plugs.

There are no Iridium plugs specified for the Mk 1. Manual calls for NGK: BKR6E-11 or DENSO: K20PR-U11, neither of which are Iridium plugs.

The GF's original Jazz started Kangarooing and the cause was worn spark plugs.

The top set were fine but the rears very worn out - I suspect they had never been changed from new.

Got a set of 8 Bosche (I think?) plugs from EuroCarParts for around £13 delivered.

Didn't think that was too drastic really and kangarooing disappeared for good.

I had an intermittent misfire on my jazz and after trying other things like ega valve cleaner which worked temporarily but the miss came back again after a few days, I then bought 8 new NGK bkr6e11 plugs. It was the cause of the misfire which has not returned.
