Title: Civic 11G E:HEV
Post by: Kremmen on October 09, 2022, 04:42:16 AM
The latest Hybrid Civic is now on owners driveways

From the photos I've seen the drivers display has a small digital speedo and a large pseudo analogue speedo as well. I don't understand why.

Surely it will be configurable. That looks like a totally digital display.

That's why I posted pseudo analogue, digital mimicking an old style speedo.

I was confused why both when a larger digital would maybe be easier to see at a glance.

And maybe a configurable display that changes colour at your set speeds.

Remember the 1960's Vauxhall Cresta/Velox that had a linear speedo that changed colour.

At ECP we have new Ford Transit Connect vans which have an analogue speedo but an info display screen in the centre of the binnacle that can display a digital speed readout.
Everyone likes it as there can be no argument about the speed, very important when you are constantly monitored by telematics.
Also after driving 8G Civics for over 5 years you get used to seeing digits not guessing exactly where the needle is pointing.

I have a digital GPS speedometer on my Jazz and I love it. Never ever look at the analogue speedo.

That GPS speedo is interesting, do you have details please?
I find it difficult to see the top of the speedo due to my height, hadn't noticed it on the test drive and this may be easier than selecting the sat nav on the infotainment.

The Mk 3 HR-V also has both analogue and digital speedometers. As I've migrated from the Crosstar I'm used to looking at the digital value and the analogue speedo is a waste of space. It can't be reconfigured as it's got an analogue pointer.

Deja vu .....

One potential 11G Civic Advance buyer asked for a height adjustable passenger seat and was told no.

Shame as he liked the Civic but his wife can't get in due to a back issue.

The first batch of UK Civics are sold and being delivered to buyers.

People who have Civics on order, some who had been told Oct delivery, are now being told the next shipment from Japan will be Mar/Apr 2023.

Some are furious even though they realise it's not just Honda but a global shipping issue affecting a lot of manufacturers and dealers have been caught out.
