No usb connection 2012 jazz
« on: October 03, 2019, 12:00:26 PM »
hello all.
after going into my local honda dealer they were unable to help me.
last week i brought a 2012 1.3 CVT automatic, this is my third honda jazz and i was sup-prized to see it didnt have a usb connection for music like my other jazz's had. weird i though cause this is a newish model.
so i took the car into honda, then into a car sound dude. nobody seems to be able to help
I even had the old usb connection taken off my 2010 jazz thinking that i could just plug it into the radio at the back
well the radio looks the same but it has different plugs at the back so it doesnt fit.

to cut a long boring story short i'm looking for a cable connecter that will fit into the slot at the back of this radio and enable me to use USB, wich as far as i can tell should be stock standard on the 2012 jazz.

i have added pics of the back of the radio, and pics of the connector from my older car usb that doesnt fit.

any help would be appreciated.

My 2011 Jazz has a short cord that plugs into the socket in the centre console, next to the 12v socket, that ends in a USB socket.

Do you not have the plugs in front of your gearstick?

Had a look on Google, appear to have the same plugs as yours which I think is a CD changer plug.. When you push AUX does it cycle through AUX / USB on the screen?

You may need an adapter.

So... I pulled my radio out to take a look to help you out, you will see in the pictures below that there is an additional unit that plugs into that plug on your stereo, which the USB then plugs into...

I guess you could try and find one at a wreckers? There are plenty of them here if you need me to help out and send one over..

You could likely buy a whole stereo with the part already attached for fairly cheap I would think, they are around $50-150 here in NZ.

Cheers

Thanks so much for your help dude. Appreciate it. I took both old and new jazz into audio shop and had them swap out the entire radio. That worked. Yay!
