How Many years to Wait till the HR-V Drops to £5k?

I only buy the cars when they are still fairly fresh and have lost most of their value they can drop and than just keep them forever...or at least till they fall apart.

Really like the look/size/idea of the HR-V but no way I could afford nor would want to spend £20k+ one one,
How many years do you reckon till they drop to the magical £5-£6k ?

8-10 years depending on how popular they are.

Why? Production & transport costs are irrelevant once it's on a dealer's forecourt.

Or do you think Honda's assembly plants operate to different standards?
Ayutthaya, Celaya, Guangzhou, Greensburg, Karawang, Pingtung, Rajasthan, Saitama, Sao Paulo, Swindon, Yorii, etc.

Anyway the cheapest base model HR-V today can be had for £17300 new, so I'd estimate it will be at least 7 years for it to be worth £5k.

OK £5k may well be 7 years off but £6500 (ish) for a 5 year old HRV not at all bad.
