How to add image?
« on: November 29, 2024, 07:09:52 PM »
Trying to add image to here but not quite understanding this here forum.

I see below ‘Attachments and other options’ so I touch that and it allows me to upload photo etc from my gallery. But the photo is very small and showing where it says ‘attach’ but I can’t for the life of me understand how one ‘attaches’ it.

Nor do I understand how I can reduce its ‘weight’  i.e it says max 3000kb (whatever that means) :)

Well, the size of the image is limited to three megabytes (which used to be "enormous" only a few years back but is nowadays easily exceeded by the megapixel camera images).

If your image is bigger than three megabytes you will need to downsize it with an app.
There are many apps able to accomplish this - if you are using Windows my personal favourite is the "original" XnView which is free for personal use. (I dislike the new XnViewMP because of its "phoning home" habbit)

As I have moved onto Linux I'm now using "phototonic" for this purpose.

hmm, for me (Linux / Firefox) there is a button [Durchsuchen...]  ("browse / search") where I can select an image from a local source to upload.

i.e it says max 3000kb (whatever that means) :)

However, if the forum says the image is larger than three megabytes you will have to refer to an image modifying app for your Ipad  (sorry, I know apples - I eat them regularly - but I never got around to comprehend the "Apple" universe (it's like they where from an other universe to me - I'm simply too stupid to comprehend their way of "thinking")

I've so far managed to comprehend and master everything from CPM / VAX / HP-UX / DOS / OS/2 / PalmOS / Windows / Android to Linux but iOS and "Apple-Think" is simply foreign and uncomprehensible to me - my brain seems to be "wired" in a completely non-Apple-way!
