The side vent housing just pulls out from the front which would give you access down the pipe work.

To remove the pipework would require dashboard removal.

maybe use 2 sided sticky tape on end of wire to 'fish' out all bits, or indeed long thin tube swaged down to hoover

I dont know the car but it may be possible to access the  area by removing the pollen filter .
I will fix that dripping tap.  No need to keep reminding me every 3 months.

Don't know if that will work as the cabin filter is on the opposite (passenger) side. But worth trying if it means not pulling the complete dash out and other methods still leave small shards rattling around.

Most of the cars where I have needed to explore to fan and vent level  the fan was in an air chamber in the centre of the car , feeding air to both sides.  Even if the shards fell down a vent on the right the rattling shows they  have reached this shared  chamber and could be accessed from either side, if there is an easy way in. Such as disconnecting an air pipe or boxed vent  from the airbox.  On some cars they might just pull off or unclip easily.  Or via the cabin  filter housing.  You might be lucky.

Access may be easier, or pipe layout  better on the passenger side.   Might still need a flexible body and good close up vison.  >:(

Like the OP I have had a cataract op (and on waiting list for the other eye to be done) so appreciate that "car repair gymnastics" is not really an option, but I agree that it is worth considering going in by the cabin filter if it avoids pulling the complete dash out. Although I have limited experience on Honda cars (a N600 if you can remember that far back) I have come across some strange layouts which on first appearance seem to have no logic but after some thought realise that there are often compromises made to accomodate production methods and costs.

On a slight deviation from the subject, I always considered the Jazz to be quite a small car but was struck the other day just how much bigger small cars have become when I came back to my "wee" Jazz in a shopping car park and the Jazz appeared huge next to an Austin A40 Farina that had arrived after me.

Ask around for a local chap who details the trade used cars prior to resale. They are my go to source for trim removal etc plus they always have a knowledge if access etc. Likely to have powerful vacuum cleaner which may with attachments get bits out. The issue is quite common on used vehicles.

Good luck

Car broken in to for £2? What is the world coming to? Sorry to hear of it, horrible.

A decent vacuum hose over the vents may bring some debris out. Pollen filter as others have suggested. Do get a vacuum in there too.

The manual if it helps is here: https://hondafitjazz.com/manual3/index.html
