Most comments seem to be about rear wheel drive cars of yesteryear,

I used to have a FIAT 124TC saloon

Used to be fun,one local junction was up a slope, in the wet I could turn onto it,and accelerate up the slope, both wheels would spin and  I could continue along but sideways,

Lots of fun, but only without other traffic around

What a nice car and especially the engine! Was your TC 1.4 or 1.6 litre?

Our company Transit vans were a challenge in the snow, especially when unladen (RWD ) :o  I make no apology for the  fact  that when me and the lads found a deserted lane with steep banks either side was a perfect bob sleigh run we had a bit of practice to hone our skills.  :P
I will fix that dripping tap.  No need to keep reminding me every 3 months.
