Glad you like the car enough for it to be unquestionably a 'She'.   Enjoy  ;D

Yes LV she is definitely a ‘she’.  She’s so cute compared to the Prius

Nice one Bev, but be careful of the Woke/PC brigade  ;) ;D

Hmm I didn’t think about that Tombola to be honest so maybe I’ll just call her ‘cutie’ instead

I know it sounds rather pretentious but I’ve been thinking about getting a private plate for her

It’s a long story but I fancy getting a ‘Tog’ one and they aren’t expensive

Congratulations!
Other than well documented(on here) questions trying to find my way around all this technology and touch screen stuff,as well as being my first automatic,I am very pleased. A lovely step up from the Mk3 although I was very apprehensive.

You’ve gotta love the Jazz!

I call mine ' The Jazz'

How unfair! - That name's already taken! (it's what I call mine)

I am in love my Jazz Jazzfreak. Amazing quality in a perfectly formed package

So far Jazzfreak I’ve not had a problem with the Jazz technology as it’s certainly no more difficult to use compared to the Prius;  I was playing around with the tech on my drive home yesterday and didn’t experience any issues…. Even the voice recognition worked pretty well but probably the best bit of tech was the adaptive cruise control.  I had that in the Prius but was surprised how easy it was to use in the Jazz

Probably my favourite feature is the brake hold function;  it’s a great feature that my Prius didn’t have but it’s so good to use.  No need to use the full electric handbrake until you need to park up

My partner saw the Jazz for the first time today

His first comment whilst I was driving was “she’s quite quick”  ;D   I’m not sure that’s the first thing anyone would say about the Jazz.  0-60 times are 10.3 secs for the Prius vs 9.3 for the Jazz so not a lot in it

What has shocked me is how serene the Jazz is even compared to the Prius; that’s a huge surprise as the Prius is in a category or two above the Jazz size wise

My partner was also very impressed, as I am, just how refined she is;  I now know that the Jazz definitely has less road/tyre noise compared to the Prius

I can’t quite believe how comfortable and quiet the Jazz is, whether that’s around town or on fast A roads/motorways. It’s a very nice place to be

Recent’ish car experience has been 2 x Prius, Auris, Colorado, Amazon V8 as well as my old E class Mercedes

I also spent some time with the Jazz infotainment system today and found it a joy to use.  The only thing I have to master is playing Spotify music via voice commands/Siri etc.  CarPlay is fantastic

I have not played around much with the drivers display yet but it seems intuitive to use.  I’ve not had to resort to the huge handbook thus far ;D

There is a "hidden" feature to the Jazz voice command:
- a short press of the voice input button will start the car's inbuilt voice recognition
- a long(er) press will start the voice command agent of the connected smart phone

So, in order to have Siri accept your voice commands just press the voice input button a little longer than normally.

Have fun to further experiment!

(I totally agree with your assessment of the Jazz being a very comfortable and quiet drive for its class!)

The official 0-62 time is 9.3  but review journalists  regularly cut a second off this time in their own tests. I think  the faster time may only be possible if the HV battery has enough charge for the electric drive motor to fully contribute.  Honda probably realised its better to publish a still impressive time that can often be bettered than one it sometimes  cant quite achieve .

Like others I have been impressed with the Mk4's massive torque.  It gives  me a massive grin that my little Jazz can  leave  BMW's etc for dead away from the lights. A good  experience for me and an unaccustomed one  for them . Especially from a Jazz :P  ;D   Its not just the acceleration. The instant 'go' without having to select a gear or wait for an engine to fire up gives you an edge.  As long as you keep alert.( I keep my lert in the magic seat well.  ;D )

Its not just me being a 'boy racer'  .  Its a positive  advantage immediately getting ahead of the scrum  rather than being barged out the way  by the  "Me first" big boys (and girls )

Absolutely LV…. I’m not sure where my “lert” is though  ;D

I always thought the Prius was pretty swift away from the lights but the Jazz actually beats it hands down while also being much more fun to drive

My partner has never mentioned the Prius to be a ‘nippy’ car but immediately said that he felt the Jazz was pretty sprightly, or words to that effect  :D

I consider the Jazz to be like a small Lexus as I find the quality to be that good

This evening was driving in the dark, albeit around town

The headlights are so good and bright

They definitely have the edge brightness wise compared to the Prius.  I was very impressed and, of course, I’ve not seen main beam yet

Your enthusiasm is really charming! (it brings back memories of my happy face after my test driving the Jazz).
The Jazz is probably the most comfortable, spacious, economical and silent car I've driven so far!

I agree, that it is quite nippy in town! However, imho it is very far from a sporty car! - I had quite some tempering to do when cornering compared to my previous car (a "measly" VW Polo Blue GT which seemed "glued" to the road in comparison to the Jazz) - well I'm not complaining: I'm getting old and feel quite comfortable with the many comforts the Jazz offers!

It's just the (in this thread / forum) portrayed idea, that a Jazz is in any way a match for any sportier car - the ability to drive off niftily from a traffic light isn't the most defining feature of a  "sports car" in my book.

Being able to corner at 10 to 20 mph faster than the "competition", being able to break from 62.5 mph to 0 within 34 meters (or even less), never feeling "concerned" about "road grip", being able to accelerate "reasonably" even well beyond 70 mph is what makes a car sporty in my book!

I consider myself a very defensive driver but I had to cut back sharply from cornering speed when switching from the Blue GT to the Jazz! Corners that previously were no proplem at all at 50 mph I have to take now at 40 at most to feel safe!

For your own safety and health (and that of your fellow motorists): Please do not confound the mere capability of acceleration with the capabilities of a true sports car! - I'm more worried about road grip and the capability of deceleration where the Jazz seems to be trailing the competition - partially owing to Honda's choice of "fuel efficient" tyres.

On a merrier thought: Have you yet tried the "long" press on the voice input button to trigger SirI?

I agree the Jazz can be very quiet and refined, but at the other end, occasional pedal hard to the floor, its rather loud and unrefined. Fortunately that is not the norm for the typical journeys I do in the Jazz.
Whilst the electric drive gives it an immediate quick pick up from the lights, in reality, it can hardly out accelerate an enthusiastic white van man!
Over the past 4 years my cars have included 2 BMW's with the 3 litre 6 cylinder engines and I just traded in my 5 litre V8 SUV with 550bhp(for a Volvo, as age requires more sensible cars) , all of which could deliver some serious off the line acceleration and "sporty" performance across all speeds, which the Jazz obviously can't.

The thing is with my Jazz, not once did I not want to jump into it or feel short changed when the "performance " cars were sitting next to it on the drive. Over 2 years, its proved to be the best small car I have driven or owned, perfect for short around town trips, yet perfectly capable on longer trips when needed, combined with Tardis like interior space/practicality.

I suppose it depends on your point of view and age.
When I started driving nearly 70 years ago, the performance figures of the current Mk4 Jazz would without doubt have been considered very similar to, if not better than the average small sports car of the time.
Anything with a sub 10 second 0-60mph time was considered ‘quick’. ;D
