Thanks to you both

I am immensely impressed with my Jazz so far. I was really worried that the Jazz wouldn’t cope very well compared to my Prius on my long motorway drive home but she was extremely good

She’s just such a joy to drive and I find myself chucking her about more than I did my Prius

The dealer was also extremely good;  Horizon Honda Christchurch and I’d totally recommend them

Do you think 60 odd mpg is acceptable for a fairly fast drive home?

I wish you pleasant and, above all, safe miles!

Thank you so much Jazzik

As it’s dark out now I’m going to check out the headlights and see how they compare to the Prius

Back in a short while….

I recommend keeping a log of your fuelings along with information about driving conditions / average speed / tyres / etc

A way to do this is a spreadsheet like @aphybrid (visible in the thread https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=12364.0 ) or on some kind of "app" or a website like e,g, https://www.spritmonitor.de/  (I do both)

My reasoning to do this:
- I'm a nerd and control-freak (guilty as charged)
- it allows me to learn about my (economic) driving and my car
- it provides some kind of "early alert" that something might be amiss

Don't let yourself be carried away too much by mpg from enjoying your car!
It is a very economical car by design! Its preferred "habitat" though is the slow town, not the high speed motorway.

You probably will be pleased with the LED headlights! (I find them even to be a bit on the "high" and too far reaching side on an unloaded car and have set them at "1" rather than the default setting of "0" because oncoming drivers have repeatedly signaled me when driving at "0" - none with the setting at "1")

Don’t worry coldstart as I normally keep a spreadsheet of my mileage & mpg etc but I appreciate that the Jazz has better mpg around town than on a fast motorway even though I got 60’ish today

Yes congratulations on your new to you jazz . Its a very satisfying drive what ever season and road . And while you do have the advantage of excellent town and city economy it zooms along the motorway in a way it shouldnt from a low power 1.5 petrol. Power of dreams maybe

Absolutely a great city car but also she copes with the motorway so well, I’m really impressed how well she went

To be honest I think she’s as quiet as the Prius and maybe even less road noise compared to the Prius

I’m also sure that I’m a proper hybrid driver as I never experience the so called ‘cvt’ type gearbox high rev problem; not in the 2 x Prius I’ve owned or in the Jazz

Probably about right for late November from a cold start with  some fairly fast driving   And likely to be even better in warmer weather.  And much better on sedate  runs.  I have averaged 66 mpg since late september without even  trying to be frugal.

Glad you like the car enough for it to be unquestionably a 'She'.   Enjoy  ;D
I will fix that dripping tap.  No need to keep reminding me every 3 months.

I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, “The current Mk4 Jazz is the best Jazz yet”, and for me, over the years it is Jazz No8.

Currently it’s covered 4073 miles since June24, over most types of road, but guess mainly SingleTrack A roads and Urban, with maybe 10% motorway, at an overall average of 69.2MPG.  (See photo).

With those sort of figures, I’m not concerned as to whether the ‘fibometer’ is reading 1 or 2 miles out,  I’m more than satisfied ;D ; ;D
