Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Comparing car you owned before Jazz
« Last post by John Ratsey on December 15, 2025, 08:59:22 PM »The Jazz is also known as the Tardis. I've been driving either the Jazz or HR-V since 2009 and would highlight that the Honda engine (basically the same in both) can be a bit noisy when asked to deliver a lot of power such as heavy acceleration or going quickly up a steep hill. It's a contrast with the vehicle being very quiet under normal use and I consider it to be a warning that it's running in performance, rather then efficiency, mode. The current Jazz isn't perfect but it provides a very pleasant driving experience. The main drawback of production since mid-2024 is the EU-mandated speed warning which we have discussed elsewhere.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Comparing car you owned before Jazz
« Last post by Imac on December 15, 2025, 08:43:15 PM »Hello
I have just joined the forum having sat in a Jazz Advance Sport in a showroom today. I knew they were roomy but pleasantly surprised how much.
I have owned Mazdas for 10 years and currently drive my second Mazda 2 which is a lovely nippy wee car, great for town driving and longer distance motorways as well as grippy on occasional twisting roads. It has 115hp compared to my previous with 90hp, they are a bit small inside though. I have also had a 3 automatic but too low and also fairly cramped, as well as an older 6 estate manual but not needed for its space any more.
Having driven many cars, but never Honda, over 40 years and looking for something roomier and easily accessible for older relatives (I suspect the HR-V is a little too high and wide), I am seriously considering the Jazz, while avoiding anything VAG or PSA with tiny turbocharged engines, as well as Ford Puma for similar reasons.
I tested a Toyota Yaris Hybrid about 12 years ago which was silent around town but so noisy on a climb up a 60mph limit road. I walked away. I realise the CVT was a different beast from the eHEV.
What car did you drive before you bought a Jazz, and how did the driving experience compare? Were you disappointed driving the Jazz or was it better overall?
I haven't (yet) test driven a Jazz and intend to do so but probably not for a few weeks.
If you got this far, thanks for reading and responding!

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Yokohama tyre wear
« Last post by TnTkr on December 15, 2025, 08:20:45 PM »I do prefer to have all four tyres same age and type, and get all four replaced at same time. The tyres are different, and my experience is that by having all four same type and age keeps the car handling more balanced
So what's the thinking if you have a puncture, do you replace all four?
That is a fair question. Luckily during the last 35 years I have oly once had such s puncture, which was not possible to repair. And further luck that those tyres were already worn out and I was planning to replace them in few weeks anyways. So the answer to your question is that I need to consider the situation in case such unlucky damage happens again.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: 7 year service
« Last post by lukedogwalker on December 15, 2025, 07:26:44 PM »Thank you 2robbie2. That certainly does help.
My message was poorly worded. I haven't phoned the dealership yet. Last year I complained to Honda when the dealership overcharged me. I received a refund. This time I want to challenge the dealership should they quote me a price above what it should be.
The Honda link I posted in my message does say I should receive free breakdown cover. I hadn't noticed before you highlighted it. I wonder why I haven't been offered free cover before. I have had a Honda Jazz serviced there for 12 years. I will ask.
Thanks once again.
Luke.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: 7 year service
« Last post by 2robbie2 on December 15, 2025, 07:00:56 PM »Hi - funnily enough I have just obtained quotes for services from two local Honda dealers as follows:-
Minor Service (oil filter, oil & standard checks):-
Honda Milton Keynes - Minor Service - £255
Honda Northampton - Minor Service - £240
Major Service (oil filter, oil, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid change & standard checks):-
Honda Milton Keynes - £380
Honda Northampton - £350
It's also worth bearing in mind that you will get free Honda AA breakdown cover for the year if you get it serviced by them (but make sure you ask for this prior to the service).
If you want additional items such as spark plugs, manual/CVT transmission fluid change and coolant change etc., these would be subject to an additional cost. The MOT would also be a separate charge.
As it so happens, I'm getting mine serviced by an independent specialist, which works out a bit cheaper but not by a huge amount (when you take into account that I will have to buy my own breakdown cover).
In summary, the charges you have been quoted of £240 and £45 sound correct to me for an annual service following the preceding year's major service.
I hope this helps.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Jazz mk4 rear washer and wiper.
« Last post by Sean Regan on December 15, 2025, 05:59:30 PM »On the subject of rear washers. It's as well to remember to use it occasionally, particularly in the summer.
There's a possibility of the supply tube getting clogged.
Earlier in the year, I was in a Honda main agents waiting to collect my car after a replacement door mirror was fitted. A woman sitting next to me was waiting to collect her car after it had been serviced. A receptionist came across to say that her car had been serviced, but there was an additional charge of £47 to pay, to unblock the rear window washer supply pipe.

Fortunately, a puncture can usually be repaired. At least here in Poland...

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / 7 year service
« Last post by lukedogwalker on December 15, 2025, 05:39:48 PM »I want to book my 1.3 SE Jazz for its 7 year service and an MOT with a very large London Honda dealership.
The cars 6 year service was a major service. I do almost exactly 5000 miles a year.
Should I expect to be charged £240 for the service and £45 for the MOT?
I'd appreciate any advice.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Rusty front suspension part: is this normal?
« Last post by fatlad on December 15, 2025, 05:17:34 PM »The other day I had the front wheels removed from my 2016 Honda Jazz. Even though this car is now almost ten years old I noticed how pristine all metal parts of the front suspension were looking. Except for one component (see photo): on both sides, left and right, is this one part rusted. Is this normal? Have other owners seen the same?Standard oxidation on the surface, no problem.
nothing a bit of hammerite wouldnt fix - personally i would leave it as is
