Post by: Beachball on May 13, 2022, 11:26:10 AM
Hi.
Soon to be a proud owner(tomorrow) of a 2019 1.3 i-vtec navi.
Just one question please.
I cant remember seeing the HDMI cable anywhere during test drive.(I understand that its needed to connect my phone to use Google maps etc on cars screen).
Any help please?.

I don't believe there is an HDMI "cable" but there is an HDMI port next to the cigarette lighter socket in our car. I think you need to buy your own cable.

Thank you SuperCNJ.

Yes,when we purchased my wifes 2013 model 5 years ago from Honda,it came with the HDMI cable.
Maybe because the one ive bought is an ex rental....its gone missing.
I reckon I should "borrow" hers ;)

I think video via HDMI is disabled unless the car is stationary.

Pointless having it really , never used mine.

A mobile phone is connected using a USB cable for Apple Car play or Android auto and or Bluetooth for calls.
The HDMI port is for playing video through the head unit screen when the car is stationary using a laptop. Kind of a strange feature.

A mobile phone is connected using a USB cable for Apple Car play or Android auto ...

The Mk3 infotainment unit doesn't do Car Play or Android Auto. The screen mirroring tech is MirrorLink, which was obsolescent even when the car was first sold. Very few people have reported getting it to work, best guess was that the version in the car was incompatible with the version on phones. Try searching the forum for MirrorLink.
