Jiggly low speed ride and wind noise at motorway speeds seems to be main complaint reported by What Car? road test.

I'm guessing they roadtested the EX model with panoramic roof and 16" wheels.

I wonder whether the lesser models would do better ?

They roadtested the ES model as per the pics etc
(though in the footnotes it says model shown is the EX - when it is in fact the ES yet another Whatcar mistake - typical)

I do not think the glass roof will make that much difference if any - it does not seem to affect the civic or CR-V

It is interesting that whereas What Car says "there’s so much wind noise at motorway speeds you can hear little else" other reviewers are more kind. Fifth Gear says "mild wind noise is the only significant disturbance at speed" and Car Magazine saya "it’s quiet at speed, bar a little rustle from the door mirrors".
I guess you just have to take the car for a test drive on the motorway and form your own opinion.

Good ol' What Car never lets us down!

I remember when they tested the original Jazz in 2002 against the Fiesta, Ibiza, 206 and Punto....they slated the Jazz even though other magazines praised it, although they changed their tune as the years went by.

Interestingly, What Car's sister publication - Autocar magazine - gave the new and previous Jazz positive reviews. Ironic considering Autocar is aimed at the enthusiast market.

Funny enough, Autocar even ranked the Hyundai i30 as best in class before the revamped Focus came out, wherelse What Car was less complementary. You would expect it to be the reverse giving that What Car is a consumer mag.

Might aswell wrap some dog whatsit in soft-touch plastics and whack on a German or VW-group badge and What Car? will say it's fantastic. ;D

I dislike most car mags anyway. The blatant favoritism is unbelievable..

"Car x is the best in class, but we'll still grab the keys to the BMW!"  ;D
