Interestingly it says that the TCU monitors the cornering  - ie the position of the steering wheel. Life is full of surprises:)

http://www.civinfo.com/wiki/index.php?title=I-Shift - this relates to the Civic, but useful.

I have read with interest  the two items on the I shift posted by applicationcen. I do not profess to understand all the technicalities but it does seem to be a clever piece of engineering. In the first, it makes the comment that due to difficulties experienced by some, Honda had to review it's supply presumably both on the Jazz and the Civic.  Despite this comment, judging by the response by members when someone criticizes the I shift it seems perhaps Honda have been too quick to remove it.
Looking at the diagrams, am I correct in my assumption that the gear change  actuator moves just backwards and forwards? eliminating the l 'gate' associated with a normal gear change mechanism.
Being an anorak, I looked at the prices for the clutch actuator (£1760) and the gear actuator assembly( £1000), which I suppose by modern standards not too eye watering, considering the clever bits inside.

Well done and thank you applicationcen for finding this piece of information.
