dreaded engine light

Hi All before i start the 1.5 ltr 2002 jazz is running like a dream
But lol theres always a but at the moment im waiting for my code reader
has anyone come accross this issue

car runs great up to 95 klms no issues at all
drive up to 100klm + and engine light comes on
turn key quickly off then on light goes out for a couple of minutes then on again
run car at 90-95 no problems with light
oil and coolent all ok temp seems normal
running with engine light on doesnt seem to effect the car at all no weird sounds or smells

any help would be great

You need to get the code and then post back. You can buy bluetooth code readers off eBay for a few £ that will do the job.

Hi all so finally  the obd reader arrives and shows p0325 knock sensor and missfire so try to find and change sensor in the next couple of days

Have you tried just doing a reset?

Done a code clear and  engine light goes out but once you hit around 100 klms it comes back on

Sounds like an intermittent fault then. Possibly a faulty connector (since everything has been in and out a couple of times). Hopefully a replacement sensor will solve your problem, if not check the immediate wiring.

Another success!  Smashing!

I think the knock sensor is ignored until it's up to temperature, perhaps that's why the EML stayed off for a bit.

i could drive it all day without it comming on as long as i stayed under 100klms but go over and it would come on turn off engine and light goes off weird but fixed now
