Parking sensors
« on: April 20, 2019, 10:36:28 AM »
Hello everyone
I have a minor irritation about my rear parking sensors in which the outer two sensors are not as sensitive as the inner two, when reversing to an obstacle to one side the inner sensors detect it before the outer ones. I mentioned this at my recently completed first service after which they said they had tested them against another Jazz and and it was the same so they considered it normal. Has anybody noticed the same with the mk3 facelift or is mine faulty?
Additionally I have dash cam footage of the entire service in which you can clearly hear a rather amusing conversation between two mechanics as to why the sensors are supposed to work like that!

This is perfectly normal. The inner sensors will start to detect objects at a distance of about 110cm, whilst the outer ones will only operate when within 60cm of any object. Page 464 of the 2018 manual has a simple graphic which shows this difference.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that, one day I might get round to actually reading the manual  :o
