Title: Classic Car LEDs Siidelights
Post by: UKjim on October 13, 2020, 07:31:27 PM
Having fitted Classic Car LEDs H4 headlight bulbs and been very pleased with them, I was thinking of fitting the front sidelights with the intention of having the the sidelights on all the time as DRL’s. Anyone tried them and have any comments good or bad please?

Hi

Yes I fitted all LED at front from classiccared and they work lovely

Sidelight
Headlight
Fog light

It’s a mk2 I think but I also fitted DRL so not used sidelight as DRL.

If you search the forum I posted pictures but it’s a few years ago now and was culzean thread

Many thanks

John

Thanks John, do you remember which one of their range did you fit as a sidelight?

Cheers

Next you'll have to consider changing the indicator bulbs. Check if a flashing front indicator is visible from a distance if the sidelights are on as brighter sidelights make an adjacent indicator less visible. You might be OK as the indicator isn't immediately next to the side light. The Mk 3 Jazz is worse in this respect.

I'm not going to replace the indicator bulbs as I can't be bothered faffing around with load resistors which are necessary to avoid 'hyperflash'.
As you correctly say the problem doesn't exist on the GD as the sidelights and indicators are about as far away from each other as they can be.
