rear wiper
« on: April 21, 2021, 05:08:27 PM »
Hi, I have a rear wiper rubber split, does anyone know whether this is an MOT item or just an advisory please as it is due for a test soon.
If it has to be replaced, where is the best place to get one. I seem to remember that Honda garages are not too bad for these ?

Many thanks.

I would just buy one from Halfords if you don't have time to order online.

I just replaced the rubbers all round, bought on-line, and used the same blades.

Can I ask the website that you used.
Is it easy to just replace the rubbers?

I have used wiperblades.co.uk  quite a few times. very good service and quick delivery.

3 choices of rear blade,  I would not buy the 'Blades' one though, I had a set of 'Blades' front blades for Civic and within 6 months one had split and half was hanging off,  wiperblades.co.uk offered to replace them, but only 'like-for-like' - so I said no thanks and got Bosch Aerotwin ( used them for a long time and never had a problem with them).

Pretty certain rear wipers are not an MOT test item, just to refer to the original question. Fronts definitely are.

I changed mine a couple of weeks ago, I used a Bosch H354 blade that I bought on Amazon, currently £5.58 (with free next day delivery if you have Amazon Prime)

No rear wiper on my Civic,  and Jazz rear wiper hardly gets used... Don't think a defective rear wiper is seen as a safety issue.

I don’t remember the website I’m afraid, but you just slide the rubbers in from one end, with the metal stiffeners in the slots in the rubber.  I took the blades off the car to do it.  You have to cut the rubbers to length first as they come oversized and coiled up.

Roddy, apologies, they allowed me to order one on its own a few weeks ago...
