Thank you
« on: September 03, 2020, 10:33:04 PM »
thank you all for your great support and answers. Got the obd2 and this is problem list of my car:

1. Catalytic converter
2. O2 sensor
3. EGR valve
4. Brake oil leak
5. Engine or gearbox leak
6. Misfire cylinder 4 and 3
7.Random misfire

So based on that I decided to exchange the 2003 jazz with 184000 miles at dealer they agreed to pay £50 for it which is heart breaking. I also test drive 2017 ex navi in process of purchase.

Thank you

Cheeky buggers, you would get more than that on ebay for spares or repair! £50 is saying "we don't want it".

Good luck with the new car, whatever you end up with, and don't be afraid to play one dealer off against another. If you can hang on for a week or two, dealers will be awash with ex-PCP stock, and more likely to do deals.

Thanks Paul I agree ebay spares will get me more. Not sure though if I'm in to breaking and selling.

New car handover next week Thursday godwilling. Its 2017 ex navi hazz 14500 mileage comes with 3 services and mot and polish.

Tried it drives  good I just feel inital  take off is slow .. compared to my 2003 manual jazz .. guess it could be the auto gearbox.
The 2003 fast in take off like it has a turbo

Tried it in sport mode felt more responsive

That will be the Atkinson Cycle of that engine.

To be fair, I don't think many dealers are going to be desperate for a 17 year old Jazz.

However, it pays to look at some of the internet scrapers to see what there is, put in the car you want and dealers make you offers. Even if you don't buy from there, it gives you ammunition to get the best price from your dealer of choice.

If you need a quick take-off, you must floor the accelerator past a resistance point, and the revs will shoot up (as will the fuel consumption!).

Around 2,500 to 3,000 rpm gets the engine out of Atkinson cycle mode and effectively switches it from an economy mode to power mode.
