Does anyone use car armrests other than for storage? I never have.

People have made different king of more and less sophisticated padding to raise the center armrest. Typically cellfoam upholstered with nice canvas or leatherette, mounted on top of the original armrest with straps, velcro or screws.

Bought an extender for my 2018 Jazz Sport off Amazon for around £12 inc delivery.
Ln-ZME Car Armrest Center Cushion Console Cover Arm Seat Leather Box Car Styling Multipurpose Armrest Breathable Soft Memory Foam All Seasons Universal (Black+ Red).
Various colour options, one I got is black with red piping. Matches Sport interior fairly well.
Hope this helps.
Jon.

That's great Jazz03, happy to be of help in my first posting.
Did not mention that armrest cushion is held to existing armrest lid with 2 elastic Velcro straps.
Cover also washable, but not as hard as existing 'low' armrest.
Hope it works for your purpose.
Got loads of add ons in my Jazz Sport interior, but can't quite stretch to a Civic Type R engine under the bonnet just yet!
