Title: Watching Videos/Movies + Battery Drain
Post by: BeefOlives on May 08, 2022, 09:31:43 PM
Evening all. Been going through the manual to learn what all the buttons do and thought I'd test playing a video via a usb stick which worked fine. With the engine running or the ignition turned halfway the video will play as long as the handbrake is up. When it's put down the video part of the video stops, but the audio continues.
Anyway...

Reason for post is if for some reason I decided to say watch a 2hr movie in the car would I completely drain the battery if I had the engine off.

Engrained common sense suggests yes, but curious as to what other people think. Seems pointless to be able to watch things if it either wastes the battery or wastes petrol.

Oh. 2019 Jazz SE.

...I don't think I would expect the car to start after a 2hr movie  ;D
10 to 15 mins of playing with the Infotainment screen is enough to kill the MK4!
Although it does 'charge' itself back up after a while so will start again, which is weird   ???
I've only watched part of a movie when waiting in the car, it was 'on' though with the engine kicking in every so often.
