Replacing rear brake pads
« on: March 01, 2019, 06:39:57 PM »
Just been to MOT and passed, but with warning on front and rear pads.

Anyone has replaced the rear brake pads? Since the car has an electric assisted hand brake, does it need special tool?

Thanks for any feedback..

They have an electric indicator light on the handbrake :)  I thought Honda had avoided the dreaded electric handbrake though !

I may have not used the correct terminology here, I meant to say it has the function to apply the rear brakes during hill start or up hill...

Ah yes, I see what you mean now. I think that's the Hill Start Assist feature that holds the brakes on for a few seconds (usually when you don't want them). Thought you'd found a new feature ! No idea whether that would complicate changing the pads, I'm afraid.

You would need a piston wind back to to replace the rear pads. This is similar to previous versions of Jazz and other honda models.
