Higher gear stick
« on: January 17, 2022, 01:07:37 PM »
Is it possible to fit a longer gear lever to a 2009 Jazz?
I'm about 6" and when I'm in my preferred seat position, I end up having to stretch down and forward to reach the stick. It's a minor annoyance but I find it causes me to constantly have to sidle over to the left a bit to compensate and it's doing my head in.

Has anyone had any experience in installing a longer shifter, or something that could help? I'm not looking for a Boy Racer Chrome Knob 9000. Just something that'll mean I don't have to shift with my fingers.

I'm 6 ft and had no problem reaching the gear lever. I can imagine being 6 inches would be a problem, though.  ;D

 ;D ;D ;D

As I say, something's uncomfortable and I'm still working out what that is. For all I know the stick and having to reach for it is a symptom, not a cause.

You leave my 6 inches alone. :P

dont take any notice of old monkey arms ,i too was wondering about a slightly longer stick so if you do buy and fit the extention i would be pleased to know if it suites i always seem to have a pain in by left shoulder after any journey in my 2018 jazz although i dont suffer the same when driving my wifes 2015 mk 2
