Auto Climate or Air Con + Auto Climate
« on: December 11, 2024, 09:35:03 PM »
I’ve been using just the Auto climate control in my new Jazz, I feel the cold so have it set at 26 deg at the moment and it’s working perfectly

I take it when using just the Auto Climate the air con is off?

Do most people use Auto Climate AND the air con set to on?

I had the same question with my new Jazz  :)

My understanding is that on "Auto" the system works truly automatic and turns AC on and off on its own at it sees fit with no visual indication whether AC is on or off even when it is clearly using the AC.

In the past 15 months of ownership I've found that the systems works well on "Auto" without needing any intervention besides the occasional adjusting of the temperature setting.

Like so many other things in the Jazz the system seems to be well designed and does a good job!
I leave it all year on "Auto"

Fully auto for me with temp set to 22

Always used full auto 24/7 on all my 4 Hondas
Let's be careful out there !

I’m not certain the AC comes on and off just set to AUTO as there certainly isn’t any indication of that

In AUTO the a/c comes on and off as needed but it's a bit confusing as the a/c light only comes on when switched on manually. There are advantages in using AUTO, eg if you switch the system on when cold AUTO will keep the fan low until the engine is generating some heat then the fan will be boosted to warm the car up. I found this video on YouTube useful although it's not specifically about Hondas:

What you have is a climate control system which controls temperature and humidity in the cabin.  It selects cabin recirculation as necessary.  The aircon must be switched on sometimes - otherwise how could the cabin be cooled in hot weather?  I've always found mine to work perfectly on AUTO.  The only problem I have is inadvertently switching it off by clumsily brushing against the touch controls.
