GT 85 used to be the go to spray for bike chains etc.

I have come to accept that the engine sometimes runs  when you might not expect it  and sometimes faster and more noisily than usual.  You can also notice  things like  aircon fans and tyre and wind noise can be  more noticeable because its not hidden by the constant noise from a  conventional ICE car.

I live on a main road and learned to ignore traffic noise.  When staying in a rural location  the silence is lovely. You can hear a leaf fall. But sheep can become annoying little bleaters and the dawn chorus of birds can be deafening   ;D

The following is pasted from the on line owners handbook.

 ● Auto Engine Stop/Start
Your vehicle’s petrol engine automatically stops running during vehicle operation or restarts while the vehicle is stationary when it is
appropriate.
In the following cases, however, auto engine stop may not activate.
 • The vehicle momentarily needs additional power for aggressive acceleration, or driving uphill or at high speed.
 • The climate control system is in heavy use.
 • The High Voltage battery temperature is high or low.
 • The High Voltage battery is too low on charge.
• Sounds Unique to the e:HEV
When you first start driving this vehicle, you will likely hear some unfamiliar sounds, particularly when you turn on the power system, or
while you are driving or accelerating from a stop. Some of these sounds are unique to this vehicle's powertrain, fuel, and climate control,
and High Voltage battery cooling systems; others are similar to sounds generated by conventional automobiles that typically are masked by
louder noises absent from a vehicle of this design. These sounds are not a cause for concern, and you will soon recognise them as normal
and thus be able to detect any new or unusual noise should one develop

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Washer Nozzle Jets Completely Blocked After 4 Years

Have you, perchance, been using washing up liquid in the washer bottle??
If so that is your problem! It contains salt and will completely block washer jets.
You need to flush the tank with hot water and keep doing so until the water shows absolutely no trace of 'gunge' .
If you can get the either end (preferably the tank end) of the pipe. disconnect and run hot water through it. Do it in short bursts, otherwise you run the risk of burning out the pump!

I feel we are going off topic here.
My questions was if anyone has removed the bit that goes on the boot door, as I'm not sure if it's done from the little cover behind?

This can also be in case the tail light is damaged and needs replacing.

Thank you

Drilled the end that connects to the hose with 2mm drill and 25-30mm deep, good as new.

Bits of plastic and rubber came out, I think these tiny bits and pieces are there to create smooth laminar flow but because they are so intricate they became blocked, you don't need laminar flow on window washers that's crackers.

Can you share some photos pls? What does the GT85 do, rust prevention?
Yuki, I have tried to post photos but the file size is too big, I will try again, GT85 Teflon spray is a rust preventative similar to, but I think better than WD40 which I use frequently on suspension area, door hinges/locks, battery terminals/ earthing points under the bonnet and folding door mirrors where they swivel

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: My Honda+ subscription?
« Last post by Kenneve on October 06, 2024, 09:37:41 AM »
My one month trial has expired and when I tap the car icon, only a loading screen appears, says "working..." nothing else. So sadly I can't renew the subscription. I may contact Honda support, I have force closed the app, restarted etc nothing changes.

I think you will find that the E-sim in the vehicle, has to to be activated by the dealer, prior to your setting up.
Have a look at,   MyHonda+Set-Up-&-Pairing-Instructions-GB_120723.pdf
This gives the full setting up procedure and page 4 mentions the dealer input.

My 46K miles from new has delivered a fairly wide range of engine sounds. None of which i have felt concerning, just different to a normal ICE engine running a conventional Otto cycle. The jazz never idles , its always under load when it needs to run . Its running a very high compression ratio of 13 something to 1 , and the noise generation from the sharp pressure rise during combustion is almost diesel like . The PCM demands the ICE to do as requested as andcwhen -hence the apparent randomness when we think it shouldnt maybe run -it does .  Honda HEV evolves as seen by the quieter 2.0 new civic drive train .  I have recently completed a 2 week holiday of devon and cornwall -the ease of going up and down 1.4 hills with a full car -very impressive ! 1100 miles and 67mpg .
