Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Low fuel reading even when fuel is there
« Last post by Lord Voltermore on Today at 12:09:45 PM »I think any extra weight from fuel ,eating too many calories ,etc will have more affect on mpg in urban traffic where the car is frequently having to haul that extra weight from 0 mph up to speed. . Also its less stress running with an almost empty tank when you know you are never far from a filling station.
But when clocking up miles on the open road, once you are up to a more constant speed a few extra kilos isnt going to make much difference to fuel consumption. Extra speed and wind resistance will.

« Last post by Jocko on Today at 12:07:31 PM »These comments seem to be missing the point. This is all about emergency alerts that will be used when there's a danger to life. And you want to turn them off?And it is only a one-off test.

« Last post by Jocko on Today at 12:05:59 PM »I would love an electric car but today I was doing a bit of battery charging and I thought, "do I need more of this". I have to charge and recharge, on a regular basis:
Mobile phone
Laptop
Toothbrush
Kindle
Fitbit
Torch
Water flosser
Camera
Flashgun
Tyre pump
Dashcam power supply
Numerous rechargeable batteries used in remotes and the like.
Do I really want to have to charge my car up as well?
Mind you, I connect my ICE car to the SMART charger every time I return from a journey (which involves unlocking and re-locking the garage each time) so an EV might be easier.

Some parents trying to get babies to sleep and that racket goes off on maybe 2 phones.
Shift workers.
Their should be an opt out for those who this will inconvenience. Will it keep going till acknowledged or is it timed off ?
All very good points, imagine all of the hospitals medical staffs phones going off all together, let alone those of the patients

On Android phones:
Go to Settings, search for "Alerts", select anything in the "Emergency Alerts" category then toggle "Allow Alerts" off.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Low fuel reading even when fuel is there
« Last post by nowster on Today at 10:33:52 AM »The Jazz has a min kerb weight of 1228 kgs so no doubt a couple of kgs heavier on the EX models with more equipment- even then no where near to 1400 kgs👍
Just checked. The V5C says 1300kg for revenue purposes. I don't know where the 1400kg figure came from. It still doesn't invalidate my calculations.
The difference between having a full tank of petrol and half a tank (15kg) is going to be minimal.

« Last post by Nicksey on Today at 10:31:48 AM »The other thing I changed ASAP was to remove the dealer straightforward number plate screws, removed in seconds and used double sided tape and security screws.
I changed the plates completely, opting for a gel type and using the double sided (which on previous cars has always held firm, though thats down to good prepping first).

.
Some petrol stations had a special 'two stroke' petrol pump that dispensed it ready mixed. But most just had a portable container of two stroke oil, where you squirted a dose of oil in your tank before filling with petrol.
In Asia I have seen roadside vendors displaying bottles of petrol for motorcyclists . (and street sellers selling a single cigarette - normal tobacco ones
