Fishing gear
« on: September 18, 2018, 12:06:55 PM »
I use my Jazz for transporting my fishing gear so most of the time the backseats are folded down.
How can I secure my gear in the car to stop it flying round?
I used to use a net in a estate I used to drive but there seems to be only 2 securing points on the Jazz

According to the handbook (p.201 of the 2016 edition) there are 4 tie-down points, one at each corner of the luggage area.

There are four tie down eyes, one in each corner of the boot area. I have a pair of pound shop dog restraints in the car, these are short straps that clip into the rear seat belt buckles and can be used for restraining all sorts of stuff, (I don't do dogs). Mrs Sky uses a tall two wheeled shopping trolley to transport craft stuff to various locations with the magic seats in the up position, the straps are good for restraining it.

This is the type but cheaper in a pound shop.

Would a simple strap around the lowered seat back and your fishing kit work?

Thanks for that. There may be a option of attaching a strap to the seat legs as well .
Incidentally looking at a video of a Fit it appears to have tie down points on the back of the rear seat. Must be to cope with the extra power!!!!

The tiedowns on the back of some car seats are for child seats, some have a strap which comes over the top of the seat.

The child seat tiedowns you mention in the Fit seat backs  are in the roof above the rear seats in the Jazz. The plastic covers are marked "Top tiedowns".
