Honda assist ending
« on: September 19, 2023, 09:32:06 AM »
I have had my crosstar for 3 years now - and the 3 year Honda assist package is ending. They have sent the extended price list. Nuff said. So - what are you guys using to replace the Honda assist UK ( and European) breakdown cover????

My dealer always extends the Honda Roadside Assistance service for free, provided I use him for the annual service. It's not offered, you have to ask for it.

I've read the same, have a dealer service and they can give you a free extension on request.

Crown Honda Bushey also throws in a free MOT with the annual service as well.
Let's be careful out there !

I still have 2 years of the Honda service plan - so dont think I can ask for extension - still will try.

The warranty on my Crosstar has just finished and I have the service plan, but they still gave me the free Honda Assist when I asked at the last service.

...I thought it was 5 year service plan with 5 years Honda assist?

How has anyone with the 5 year plan run out?

I also thought that , 5 year service, 5 year assistance, 5 year warranty. That certainly is what I have.

The 5 year plan only came with the optional finance for me, otherwise, I think, it was the 3 year default pack.

If it's just breakdown cover you're after, try with Aviva. I have personal breakdown to cover me in/on any vehicle including my motorbikes ,and with full European cover included to cover my touring holidays (I double checked specifically to confirm it did cover me on a motorbike in Europe) . It is actually with RAC but through Aviva and is significantly cheaper than when I was previously covered direct with RAC.
It's basically around £100, which I think is a bargain. I do have other Aviva policies so not sure if it is discounted.
Worth a quote.

...It was offered to me regardless of how I was going to pay.

My 5-year service plan came with the car which was an ex-demonstrator but as far as I know Honda Assist wasn't part of the package, it doesn't really matter if they extend the Assist part for free with a service.
