In the eCVT there are two oil pumps the rattle is from oil starvation on start up. Noise from one of the pumps on pickup. This happens on mine within the first month of ownership and it resulted in the car being rejected in the first 30 days. It took Honda technical ages to admit that there was an issue.

When you say 'issue', it sounds like you mean there is a problem... are you implying that there may be a possibility of an 'issue' further down the line and age of the car?

I’m just saying what happened with mine when it was brand new.
But wouldn’t be surprised if there are problems now.

If you are posting on this forum, you should have a GE model or Mk2.  A 2003 will be a GD model or Mk1, which has a different shaped body shell, so no they wont fit.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Garmin Maps Europe 2024 Available
« Last post by Lord Voltermore on October 03, 2024, 04:29:53 PM »
Jazz built  from mid 2024 now have  satnav  mapping data from HERE.com  not Garmin.  The Honda handbook says  these will be updated at least once a year for 14 years from the date of manufacture. We shall see.
Updates are only free for 8 years  , Years 8 -14 requires payment.    So its still the case that eventually drivers of older cars will be expected to get lost  ;D (or use their smart phones  )

Honda say the navigation system uses  some open source data. The English language  assistance voice sounds like  the same British "Aggie the sat Naggie"  as was used on the Garmin,  but the directions given  are more detailed.

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Torque Value Please
« Last post by jazzphil on October 03, 2024, 04:03:04 PM »
The oil level/condition sensor that bolts into the sump has developed a weep.  I intend to replace the O ring at the next oil change, but I wonder if anyone knows the correct torque value for the three bolts that hold the sensor in the sump?  Cheers.

DEFINITIVE ANSWER FROM GARMIN

Further to the issue about limited memory space for updates,  I emailed Garmin to ask if they could make available a UK only version of the update,  as this would fit the available memory (although at the cost of losing the European mapping)

The reply from Garmin is quoted below

Thank you for your email.
We have checked on our end and the last version available for your device is City Navigator Europe NTU 2023.10. Could you please tell us if you already have them installed?
Due to the fact that is a quite old one and there is a limited internal memory, other updates won't be available.
We are really sorry to give you this information but we cannot do anything more, I'm afraid.

So that looks like the end of the road.   My Jazz was first registered October 2018,  so I would think that any Jazz prior to that date,  and perhaps some younger cars,  will have the same problem.

It is really annoying.  I would be happy to pay for annual updates,  and I would have thought it commercially viable for Garmin to provide them  - a captive market of thousands of cars stretching years into the future
