2005 SE passenger side door on 2003 SE model?
« on: June 26, 2020, 01:18:26 PM »
Hi guys.

Someone tried to break into my Mk1 Jazz last night, and succeeded only in bending the top of the front passenger side door. Not fixable, so I need a new door.

My Jazz is a 2003 SE model, so it doesn't have chrome interior door pulls, doesn't have an indicator in the side mirror and it does have a key hole on the passenger side door handle. I've found a replacement door in the same colour, but I think it's from a 2005+ SE model, so the replacement has the chrome door pull, does have an indicator in the mirror and doesn't have a key hole on the door handle. (Based on this thread https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=1156.0)

So, my question is, will that door fit/work with my Jazz?

Many thanks.

Yes it should fit.
You should be able to strip your door of all it's "furniture" and fit it to the new door. It's a fiddle but will give you a lot of spares.

As trebor says, you should be able to strip everything from your original door and fit to the replacement - the 'shell' is the same.

Thanks very much guys - much appreciated! It's taken a while but I can confirm that the swap was fine. I've kept the new door handle (without the key hole) from the new door and that works fine too.
