Workshop Manual
« on: June 21, 2023, 09:28:29 PM »
Is there a Mk 4 Jazz hybrid full workshop manual available for  purchase/download  anywhere ?  In one post on this forum there is mention of "paid access" to the dealer workshop/technical manual.  Does anyone know how to get such access?

I am trying to wire up a 7 pin plug for license plate and lights on my rear bike rack and a correct wiring diagram will be useful!

I searched google with “mk4 honda Jazz hybrid wiring diagrams” and it opened various pdf wiring diagrams. Try that and see if you can get what you need. All the best.

These 'paid access' workshop manual sources tend to be part of an annual subscription giving profesional garages data on multiple makes of car, Or a specific make they specialise on.Or just a  specialised area such as electrical circuits,  or bodywork measurement  data for bodyshops etc   The cost is normally only affordable and structured for a business  user needing frequent access all year round.      There may be one that allows time limited access to the Jazz data at a price suitable for a home user, but when I have looked in the past for a much more common car than the Jazz I couldnt find one.

As Terry P says if you search for a  very specific task  you may find a pdf has found its way onto the net, or might lead to a site that offers limited access for an affordable payment.

When t had my MK3 I looked everywhere for a workshop manual without success.
I wouldn't be very optimistic about finding one for a MK4 yet.
It will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end !

Not sure I would want to be involved with any wiring on a new car … all that tech can be easily messed up . The jazz can tell you when the brake lights illuminate when using ACC . Wiring these days can be multiuse of signals ..  don’t feels it’s as easy as “ scotch lok connectors “ to the loom as it is in the good old days …if you are a modern auto Electrican happy days you have a good idea but otherwise let the Honda dealer sort. You have to sometimes pay for the know how and also it won’t invalidate your insurance if the wiring causes an electrical fire .

With CANBUS wiring on your car it may not be as straightforward as you imagine. You may connect into the correct wires but that could then throw up all sorts of errors with the computer side of things. I was ignorant of CANBUS systems until I bought my Fabia and now I find simple wiring can be a minefield.
I would get an auto electrician to tackle that job or, as others have said, your dealer.

Seen similar with others using fuse piggybacks for wiring in accessories.

The car detects the additional 'draw' and can shutdown that circuit to protect itself.
Let's be careful out there !

Have to say, I had my dash cam fitted by Honda, the electrician told me that work on the car’s electrical system they have to set up a meter perimeter around the vehicle due to the high voltages it has. Honda dictated this to them after they found out an engineer failed to follow safety procedures.

Thanks for all of the good and sensible advice.  I did purchase  a proper CANBUS adapter so will get out my multimeter and proceed with caution to see if I can even locate the correct wires running to the rear brake and indicator lights.  If you see a flash and bang in the western skies you know that I found the main battery wire!

Interesting USA website,  not the Jazz but the CR-V, but has a lot in common. Might be useful for some of you.
