2003 tape player
« on: February 24, 2016, 06:13:35 PM »
Hi All.  My 2003 Jazz has a tape cassette player with a radio.  Nice clear sounds from the radio.  I have some tape audio books from the charity shop for long journeys, but would like the option of playing my CDs.
Is there an adapter I could plug in to give me a CD player as well? I'm not ready to replace the tape player yet but will at some point.

£5 will get you a cassette to 3.5mm adapter from eBay/Amazon delivered.

Removing the headunit and replacing it with a CD version from a broken Jazz is quite easy but the fascia has to match the heater controls (standard AC or climate control) ~£30

I play podcasts from my phone via a Bluetooth to FM transmitter, it also plays from a 3.5mm jack, SD card or USB stick, and charges the phone. The phone either dips or mutes&rewinds the audio when the navigation is speaking. Tuned to preset button 6 and doesn't need the phone as I've copied a couple of CDs to a memory card as an alternative.
Wireless-Bluetooth-Car-FM-Transmitter-MP3-Radio-Player-Charger-Kit-With-Dual-USB ~£10.
