Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Tire change advice
« Last post by Wonder on Today at 09:26:16 PM »
Hi everyone, this week I managed to change my tires. I ended up using all-season tires.
I put on some KUMHO tires. The label says D B 71 dB. They're slightly lower than the ones I had before (C A 71 dB), but they should give me a few more miles. I don't do much, so going from C to D isn't a concern for fuel consumption. Wet grip is definitely a bit lower, but if this tire (as I hope) wears less than the previous one, I probably don't know how many miles I drove with a tire that had essentially become a C tire. I'll have a chance to see how they perform this coming winter.
In any case, the tread pattern is the same or very similar to that of the previous tires.

For security Honda don't release the inner workings of the key to car system

Which is a reassuring thing.

Back to the old CTEK advice

As above, that battery sounds normal to me

The 12v battery is small and maybe a good 'CTEK' would work wonders

That's reassuring. I was going by the charts showing battery charge state v resting voltage.
12.2v equates to 60% charge and 11.8v equates to 30%. I don't think 60% charge would be a problem in the summer, but it might be different in the winter. The battery is obviously not at full capacity (12.7v) and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

11.8 is hardly a major discharge!

I could understand your concern if it was around the 7 or even 8 mark, but 11.8 is nothing.
My 72 plate is on the original battery, and it hovers around the 11 mark. I won't be buying another till it drops to around the 7/8 mark.

I've seen similar requests for other recent Honda models and none have worked properly unless done by a dealer

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Aftermarket Duplicate Key MK4 2024
« Last post by namlas on Today at 10:20:08 AM »
Hi Everyone,
I'm in need of a duplicate key. Tried to search everywhere (especially on youtube) but couldn't find much information. Have anyone had a duplicate key done (aftermarket one). The main dealer's charging alot. Want to have an idea, how much it would cost and would that be reliable to use. What are your experiences if you have gone that route.

Regards

I bought the car s/h from a Honda dealer at 2.5 years old. The battery seems to be the original. The battery has never failed, but if I didn't drive it for a week or so in the winter the voltage (measured at the battery terminals) would drop as low as 11.8v. If I drive it now, and it is parked for an hour, the voltage is around 12.2v. I'd rather change the battery now than have it fail in the winter.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Door seal leak?
« Last post by ColinB on Today at 07:19:54 AM »
Not sure I can be much help here. There is certainly a known (I wouldn’t say “common”) issue of water leakage into the rear footwell; videos on YouTube about this. The usual cause is detachment of the door’s internal plastic membrane, but you say this has been checked so there must be something else going on. Check the drain holes underneath the door are not blocked. If the rubber seal itself is deteriorating then that ought to be detectable by inspecting it, looking for perishing, holes, or some foreign body obstruction (including underneath the seal). I think you can probably check whether it’s still sealing against the door by chalking round the seal.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Door seal leak?

Hi guys, I wonder if its common for the 3rd generation Jazz rear door seals to dry out/shrink with age ( e.g. 10 years for my car) thus allowing water to run down and build up at the lower door seal groove  and then trickle down into the nearby footwell? I first thought  that water running down the window was  possibly leaking from unstuck door membrane and running out from the lower gap between the door trim and the door  metal shell to gather at the lower door seal groove so I had the door trim removed and  the membrane checked  and  re-sealed  but  the issue is still the same, i.e.after some rain  I still get water collecting at the bottom door seal groove and then into the foot well. The door has not been subject to accident repair or fixing at any time prior.  Honda dealership advise they would charge a fortune just for 'diagnostics'  despite the narrowing down of the cause. Any helpful ideas?
