Minimalist.  :) It has fixed the "Hello <user>" banner problem.

Still got the blank page. fixed with refresh. I frequent another SMF board, using the same revision of SMF, and this blank page problem doesn't occur. Perhaps you could ask your hosting company to look for something odd in the error logs?

OK, it looks like the problem has been solved. It also affected viewing Profiles which only logged in members can do.

The first thing I done was to check both the forum and server error logs which showed up nothing. I've now disabled hostname lookups in the SMF admin panel after doing a search in the SMF support forums and it appears to be OK.

(If by chance you've come across this by searching for blank screen problems with SMF, you can disable the hostname lookup by going to Admin CP -> Features and Options -> Layout and Options tab and check the box marked Disable hostname lookups).

Richard I recognise the words you have used as english but I have no idea what they mean when put together in this order in a sentence!!  ???

Suffice to say that whatever you did seems to have fixed the problem.

Not had a blank screen since your modification, Richard. Perhaps you could hazard putting the pretties back.

All the other bits like the Thank You option have been put back.

I'll reinstall the template once the offset Welcome box has been sorted (that was a separate issue). I don't have the problem myself (I use Firefox 3.0.14) but it did appear in Safari.
