Do UK Jazz models not have a spare wheel?
« on: March 04, 2012, 03:39:29 PM »
Reading the posts, it appears as if the spare wheel is an optional extra.  In South Africa all Jazz models, from the cheapest up have a "space saver" spare.

Here you might have a puncture out in the sticks and be several hundred km from any type of repair shop

Spare tyres are becoming a rarity on new cars these days not just on Honda cars but across all makes.

I think the quality of roads in Britain is much higher than here.  Although most roads are paved, there are plenty of rough gravel roads that are injurious to tyres.

I have purchased a rover 45/MG ZS space saver for my jazz GE, its the exactly the same stud fitment (4x 100) and fits perfect, its practically the same circumference as the original wheel and maybe put the warning light on (not tried it yet) but i have been told that that will extinguish once the original is back on the car.... its a very cheap alternative to a honda one.. i paid £15 delivered and its like new, never seen a road.. they have gone up a little, the last time i looked, they were £20 delivered.

GD models in the UK have a space saver spare but the GE model doesn't. I am pretty sure that the GD space saver will fit the GE model.

Careful!

GE model ES has 15" wheels, same as the GD; the GE EX has 16" wheels!

I have purchased normal 15" jazz steel wheel & tyre for my EX which normally has 16" alloy wheels.
The rolling radius is identical give or take a 1mm.

However it can only be used as a get-u-home spare and must be labeled:- 50MPH Max  -Temporary Sparewheel.

Honda only supply 1 type of spacesaver wheel, for the Jazz, regardless of diameter.

That's not what my local dealer told me. They say that there are 15" and 16" space savers!

Ebay have 14", 15" and 16" Jazz space savers listed too!

you can have my spare if you want :P

haha i really do need to go out buy myself a 15" spare instead of my GD's stock 14" one (since a flat in the front would mean taking the rear wheel off to use the spare on it and replacing the front with the rear wheel...)

because im using 15" wheels....that simple.. putting a 14" on with a 15" on the front wouldnt have a great effect it would mess up the altenator or something (haha mechanic i use was speaking about it..cant remember exactly what it would mess up...)....so best if 2 15" are used on the front.
