Vibration/Judder on Manual Jazz
« on: October 04, 2010, 08:04:25 PM »
I have looked everywhere to see if I can find a solution to this strange problem on my wifes 2002 manual trans Jazz.

At first I didnt believe her so I have been using the car fine for the last few days but it has now done what she was describing to me.

It will drive fine then randomly make a vibrating sound throught the transmission that can be felt through the brake pedal. It is very similar to warped discs and gets worse when you depress the brakes. It then goes away and drives normally, any ideas?

Its done 62k and there is no gearbox whine.

Hope you can help.

My wifes Jazz had the same problem, which I thought was the front disks. Didn't think of it at the time but the gearbox locked solid so had a replacement fitted, and now I think about it the 'warped disk' problem is not there!

We didnt mess about in the end and traded it for a Corsa. I am pretty sure it was the gearbox yet no whine so if yours does the same and starts getting worse on fuel that must be the problem.

Shame as its put us off Honda's for life.
