You learn something every day.
« on: September 30, 2020, 07:03:32 AM »
Despite having owned my Mk 1 S for four and a half years this morning was the first of me realising there is a light (two actually) shines down onto the cup holders ahead of the gear lever. I think that a petrol receipt lying in the holder helped. I also noticed that with my height and seat position, the gear lever knob masks the cupholder so that may partially explain not seeing it.
At first, I thought a bulb had come adrift and was shining down the back of the panel, but all the knobs and buttons were correctly illuminated, and further investigation revealed the two lamps.
As I said, you learn something every day.

Many Audi drivers have yet to find the indicator stalk...

Funny you should mention this as I too had now noticed that my cup holder space illuminated when I had a cup in it.  Bought my Jazz last week and still finding new things about it.

Thanks. Yeah, born there in '66.  I've had a few Hondas in my 32 years of driving - Accords, Aerodecks & Civics.  It's nice to be back with another Honda and needed a car that was easier on my wallet when I went to the pumps.

As I mentioned in the post, I'm always finding useful gadgets and buttons everywhere and love the 'deck chair' fold up back seats. Ideal you feel inclined to carry your pet Shetland Pony around the place.
