"MyHonda +" android app didn't not detect my car.
And usb.honda.com gives me some connection issue after I upload the .JSON file that my car has written.
So I'm not sure if my car is supported by Honda services and stuff.
Also, It seems the car is not sharing internet to the Honda's infotainment via Android Auto (when "Checking for updates"). It always suggest to use a different connection like USB or Wi-Fi.
I'm just asking out of curiosity, not a big deal to be honest.
Small new info about my "TCU disabled" Jazz (due to Canarias Honda seller policy).
Today I went to usb.honda.com and I uploaded the old. json file that I already had stored on my PC and this time it took like 10-20 seconds processing and finally got a message "No updates available at this time".
So I'm happy because it seems the portal now identifies my .json file. So it's not completely blacked out from Honda servers in case a new update is released in the future.

« Last post by Joseph on July 12, 2026, 03:51:56 PM »I do a lot of highway driving, but my 2014 Jazz gets just under 50 mpg. Not bad given it's got 150k miles on the clock I figure! Doesn't beat my 125cc bike though, 100 mpg! And a full tank costs me under £7, compared to £35-£45 for the Jazz.

I will not go with Halfords. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! The independent garage isn't open today so I'll try calling them tomorrow, but if they can't do it I'll just attempt it myself.
I'll try to diagnose the issue myself and take a look at that pump you mentioned if it's actually broken.
Halfords didn't even diagnose what was at the root of the issue specifically, so I'm really surprised they came out of the gate swinging with a complete bill when they didn't even remove the wheel arch themselves!
I guess it makes sense why their diagnostics check was free, I would've been happy to pay for a more in-depth look. It blows my mind they exist as a franchise when they charge so much for small repairs and don't do very good work. The guy at the counter was nice though. Oh well.

My company car supplier used to use Halfords (Inchcape), no idea why, and Halfords made so many mistakes that often the car had to go to a franchised dealer to sort their mistakes

Quick search reveals washer pumps from £8-£25 from various sellers on eBay/Autodoc etc. The £25 one is a Febi unit, a well known German manufacturer I've used for all my BMW's in the past.
I haven't looked at the job myself but it isn't difficult to whip off a wheel and arch liner to gain access if that's what's required.

I got a used Honda Jazz Si 2014 1.4l manual a few months back, it's my first car and it's been a joy to drive.
Yesterday though, I ran into my first issue: the windscreen washer jets aren't working anymore. No engine pump sound, and seemingly the issue is not coming from the fuse, which is still fine (I tested it with the help of a friend).
I took it to halfords and they confirmed it wasn't the fuse, and it was most likely the motor in the pump that was dead and would need replacing. They're asking for £600!!
£300 for the pump, and £300 more for labour according to them.
Now this is my first garage bill aside from servicing, and it just seems insane. Is this just how it goes, or am I getting ripped off?
They claimed the reason the pump was £300 is because it's just how honda prices them and there's no aftermarket parts. They also said since they need to remove the wheel arch, it justifies the £300 labour cost. But after doing a bit of research it really doesn't seem like that crazy of a job, am I missing something? I'm phoning an independent garage tomorrow to see if they can give me a different price but I really hope I can get this fixed for cheaper because £600 is more than a quarter of the cost of the car itself when I got it :'(
