So my son and his nurse partner have my old Jazz now. Yesterday they told me that something was hanging off underneath the car. On inspection, the front bumper has come unclipped just in front of the nearside wheel arch and a largish plastic panel looking like some sort of protective guard under the engine is hanging down.
They tell me they park right up to a bramble bush and some may have got caught in the bumper so when they reversed out it pulled the thing off. Not really bothered how it happened. The car is mechanically sound and will run for years but cosmetically is well past its prime.
My question is, can I safely and easily remove this plastic panel without a pit or anything but the jack in the car, and will it need to be replaced? It is unlikely we can get a garage repair completed before she next needs the car to get to work treating Covid-19 sufferers on Tuesday.
I have suggested we get to a garage on Monday and have it removed/made safe and if necessary, get a proper fix done when she next has a few days sway from the hospital.
Thoughts please?
