I've now been in touch with Honda customer service who have requested additional information which i have supplied and escalated the issue to their Digital Services Department.  I will post any reply here in due course.

The app is dire. After doing the 6 month confirmation of ownership (sitting in the car and punching codes into my phone) I thought it had successfully updated. Now it gets confused as to whether my phone or my iPad is the primary device and won’t update on either.
Honda don’t seem to have a clue when it comes to software. I won’t be continuing with Honda+ once the free 12 month period is up.

I emailed the app support at Honda about the missing maps a few days ago… but haven’t even received an acknowledgment.

I was considering getting the dealer to activate telematics on mine in August but given the problems and the reduced functionality, as it will be 1 year, I don't think I'll bother.

I had it's predecessor on my Civic and rarely looked at it.
Let's be careful out there !

I sent two emails to the email address provided on the app but received no reply for 10 days. I then used LinkedIn to contact the manager responsible for Connected Services at Honda directly (cheeky but justifiable, I think). He was very nice and escalated my issues (for which I received a reply a few hours later).

I get the impression that the app, which although touted by Honda as being a very useful feature for tech savvy Honda e, Jazz and HR-V owners, really has little support (either to develop it further, or from a customer service standpoint).

I reckon Honda asked some third party organisation, (who don't really give toss) to produce the app. When I worked in the Planning office for BT we had an app that did something, I can't remember what. The app had a bug. We had to contact the developers, in India, to get the app working again when it had locked up. When I asked them if they would fix the bug I was told, with a laugh, "The bug keeps us employed"!

Probably a wise decision unless you are prepared for login issues, obtaining one time pass codes and sometimes having to sit in the car itself to get it to work. And as for any paid subscription…

Going off at a tangent, do you think it works any better with the Honda E? Or is it just simply a naff App?

Apart from this latest GPS/location hiccup, that seems to be fixed now, i've had no real issues.
Operation has certainly improved since it was first launched, it could be faster in operation and there are still a couple of data anomalies e.g. fuel used, but otherwise I find it useful.

I reckon Honda asked some third party organisation,

This would appear to be the company that developed the app

Yes, it now works.

Entering a postcode with or without a space works fine.

Could the problem be that iIf it's like the Garmin satnav then it can't handle a post code if you omit the space in the middle?
No, it doesn't mind either way.

If the Honda+ app had functionality like Garmin's Smartlink app to allow live traffic I'd happily subscribe.

I like how further down that link page they show the screen with the 'e' on it and half the battery gone but 175 miles of range left :D

That's good to hear.  Honda have come back to me this morning stating "There was a Journey/Car Locator issue which was resolved yesterday on the 12th of January".  The simply told me to exit the app and re-open. I am reluctant to delete app and reinstall as this would no doubt mean re-pairing with the vehicle again, beside there is no update showing on the App Store.

However, I still cannot get it to work so am wondering what I am doing wrong.  Can you post details of what you did with screen shots if possible.

...Mine just started working again then also, so maybe they did actually fix something yesterday!

You shouldn't have to uninstall, just close and reopen as they suggest. Click on the journeys button at the bottom and start typing in the destinations box.

Just tried again now and it's still working :D
