Cruise control.
« on: August 12, 2016, 02:29:46 PM »
I have owned many cars with cruise control but the Mk3 Jazz is the first one where the clutch pedal does not instantly cancel the CC. I wondered what was going on when I changed gear and the CC remained active.

Having just checked the book I have discovered that the clutch pedal must be depressed for more than five seconds to cancel the CC. (Page 416)

One of my cars would catch many people out, the CC would not engage unless the brakes had been used since engine start. This was because the brake pedal switch was part of the checks the system made when switched on. A classic was leaving a motorway services with a clear run and no CC because the brakes had not been used.

Yes I also noted this, possibly a use in that when going along and hill approached a change down without throttle can now be carried out and changes back up as hill passed!!
Timing is of the essence to avoid low rpm.
