Water ingress

Have I found the source of the water ingress or is it coming from somewhere else? (Should be photos attached, if not how do I attach them please?)

Seems to be the water pooling in the small channel in the bottom of the door seal until it spills into the interior, instead of draining outside. I've temporarily lowered the outer edge of the seal in the hopes it allows the water to exit the car.

If I'm right, is there a permanent fix? If I'm wrong where else could it be coming from please?

More than likely either the door membrane behind the interior door panel or door drain holes blocked allowing a water build up.

Remove the door interior panel to see if water is draining correctly.

We had water ingress from the door panel membrane seal following some paintwork, albeit on a newer variant.
The black, bitumous sealant was flattened and the membrane was creased in some areas causing water to pass through, down to the bottom of the plastic door panel then onto and over the rubber door seal.
I tried to pull out the creases and reshape it. It seems to have resolved it.
On an older car, the membrane had been cut for door trim access, again from previous paintwork but that time it was replaced with a whole new membrane. The new one was that foam type material often used to wrap electrical appliances rathe than a plastic sheet.

Thanks to both of you.

I have now checked, without taking the interior door trim off, all the drain holes in the rubber seals on both the door itself and the door aperture. All seem clear.

Also checked the 'sheet metal' drain holes at the bottom of the door and they too seem clear.

Guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the door card off.

i bought a cheap set of trim removal tools via ebay a few years ago. Very useful for gently prying things without damage.
