I have had to replace the front washer pump one twice now.

All bought on eBay, only last about 2-3 years but there not much more that £7 ish anyway. If its the only thing that goes wrong with the car i don't mind  :D :D

But should I go for the £2 version and live dangerously?  :P

Jonathan

Did yours stop working or was it the same as mine, where it started leaking?

I'm just going to head out to the car and fill up the washer bottle and see if the "walnut whip" repair method made any difference....  ;D

Mine stopped working.

Maybe your washer pump has come loose from reservoir slightly....

Didn't appear to be loose but I'm leaving the washer bottle filled up overnight as a test.

If it's still full in the morning I'll do a check of the pump and see if that starts the leak again.

It looked like it was coming from the bottom of the pump, rather than the opening to the bottle but will verify tomorrow.

Water level constant overnight, presumably this means there's no problem with the pump seals or connection to water bottle.

Gave the washers a good blasting and all working fine.

Refilled the water bottle to the top to see if there's any drop in water level.

Fingers crossed!  ;)

All appears to be OK with the pump for now.

Popped into SCB in Edinburgh today (I was dropping a pal off at the airport) and picked up a used water pump for the princely sum of £2.

They had two or three Jazz's in for breaking and on two of them, the water bottles were already exposed.

That spare will be put into the tool box, until needed.  ;)

Next job will be fitting new discs and pads at the weekend.... Fingers crossed for dry weather, should be here tomorrow afternoon.

GF ordered a full set of front and rears for £62 delivered on eBay.
