Hybrid update
« on: December 18, 2021, 07:07:28 PM »
My Honda dealership said that Honda are issuing an update in January to allow you to set sensitivity on the Lane Keep Assist. This is because people are complaining that you can't turn it permanently off. At the moment you can do it temporarily but when you turn off the car it becomes active again.

... Which car?
It's off by default in the Jazz.

I've got the crosstar.  You can only turn the lane keep assist off once you are driving, then when you turn the engine off , it comes back on again. What do you mean by the RDMS?

...LKAS is not on by default. You don't have to turn it on.
RDMS - road departure mitigation system is on by default every time you start the car. You have to turn it off of you don't want to use it...

I wonder if this will be OTA or require a dealer visit ?

I'm a bit confused about what is what. I'm talking about when you are driving and get too close to the edge of the road , the car bleeps, the steering wheel tries to correct you, an orange picture of a car appears on the dash, and if you don't correct your steering, it stays on for a few minutes then resets. That's what I'm talking about, and that comes on by default every time I start the car, even if I turn it off when it happens.  This is what the dealership say can't be turned off permanently.

There have been previous misunderstandings as well.

The first post is 99% RDMS as I read it.

LKAS is off by default and is turned on/ off from a steering wheel button.
RDMS is on by default and performs the steering wobble and dash steering wheel icon when triggered - and is a pain.
Let's be careful out there !

Thank you. It must be the RDMS that I mean, and that is what Honda are apparently going to issue an update on in January to enable you to turn the sensitivity down on it so it doesnt activate so much . Lots of customers complain about it.

I'll still turn it off.

As I've posted before, I often drive very early on a Sunday morning and I'm more often than not the only car on the road till I get to the motorway.

On the roads towards the motorway there are a few places which are dual or triple carriageway and some S bends. After re-checking all mirrors I don't follow the S but cut all the corners.
That turns the RDMS into overdrive as I cross all the white lines.
Let's be careful out there !

He asked me to go over there next week and we will attempt to find it,in liason with Honda . Ill keep this forum updated

...Will have a look.

It would be nice if they sent an update to put 'brake hold assist' on by default instead of having to remember to activate it each time...

I'm happy with brake hold off by default.

When you stop, brake hold keeps the brake lights on, dazzling all behind. I use the parking brake switch so the brake lights go out.

...I put the parking brake on also but only when I've come to a complete stop and the brake hold assist is on, stopping me going forward.

...I can still only see early, normal and delayed?
That's in the driver assist system setup for RDMS. My system says it's up to date.
