Honda here in the UK do not honour any faults in older vehicles unless it's VOSA recalls. Then they have to. Have a 2012 car and the battery died at 2 years old. I had to buy a replacement.  Front brakes sticking on at 2.5 years and had to pay for a brake service  (pad ears greased). HUK were not interested. Pre Paid 3 year service, brake fluid indicated on service sheet as changed. It wasn't ! Did it myself. Good cars, but the UK franchise and dealer network is rubbish IMHO.

I would suggest that is a very familiar theme. I haven't so much experience of main dealers, but the times I have used them to buy, service and repair cars has been very disappointing. The manufacturers sign above the door means nothing with regard to quality or competence of service.

Paint is one area where Honda seem to consistently stuff it up, noticed the paint wasn't the greatest from the first Honda I bought.

Seems the Mk4 Jazz has widespread paint issues going by the Honda Fit USA groups on Facebook, also catastrophic with the paint flaking clean off. Honda does appear to fix it under warranty though.

I didn't think the MK4 was sold in the US.

US Honda Fit is made in Mexico but our Jazz is made in Japan.

As far as I'm aware the UK paint, whilst soft, is mainly OK.
Let's be careful out there !

The paint finish on my Mk4 EX, albeit only 5 weeks old is, like the rest of the car, superb.

I’ve just washed my 2012 Si in Orchid white and it’s flaking both sides just on that inner part of the A pillar.
It looks like a very thin layer of paint in that area. I think I could get away with light sanding and flashing along it as the existing paint is so thin you could get away with it without it being noticeable.

I sanded it back with various grades of wet ‘n’ dry and used touch up paints on it. It doesn’t look great, I’ll give it a day and then flatten it off. If it still doesn’t look great I think I’ll do it with spray paints so at least the whole strip will be an even colour.

Just checked mine (2014 metallic silver/grey).  Identical issue on the inner edges of the A-pillars.  In my opinion while the colour base coat was applied, there is no top lacquer coat in this area.  I've stuck black PVC tape to the inner face of the A-pillar.  Stops water getting to the area and it just looks like an extension to the windscreen surround moulding.

Same here unfortunately, guys. Both pillars.

Part of me wanted to touch it up / repair it, but part of me says, just deal with it. It's presumably cosmetic only.
