The 2018 update is a considerable improvement of the pre update car. The improvements in many cases are subtle but distinct and best assessed by a back to back drive. Things like ride and handling, steering feel etc have to be experienced. This is Honda's version of the cars update.

I’ve had both and the 2018 model rides bumpy roads better is quieter seams to “sit” better ( feels more substantial?) on the road than the previous model in my opinion it’s a fraction less stable in side winds on the Motorway but the improvements make for a better car all round

Mrs Sky says it feels more "solid" than our 2016 MK3.

Unless you need higher seating in Jazz it sounds like you need a Civic, much better all round than Jazz.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

The modifications, (facelift) were introduced for the 2018 model year. New cars sold from September 2017, easily spotted by the "bump" over the Honda logo in the grille. Pre facelift models have a flat top to the chrome trim in the grille.

Would have a Civic but it’s got way too big for my needs. The new Jazz just feels bigger  :D

Thank you, very helpful. Will check, looks like I have pre 2018.

Also the black grills in the rear bumper have been made much smaller on the facelift model

In the 2018 the daylight running lights have moved from the bottom and are now in the same unit at the headlamps.

Only on the EX and Sport with LED headlights.
