Honda is to start selling its British-built Civic Type R in Japan in 2010. The Type R, which is produced at the firm’s plant in Swindon, will be sold in limited numbers and called Euro to distinguish it from the Japanese-spec four-door saloon version of the Civic Type R. It will be the third country to sell the hot hatch, after Australia and South Africa.
Honda’s Swindon plant is the only production facility in the world that builds the three-door Civic Type R.
