Puncture & Space Saver Wheel Pics
« on: September 18, 2015, 06:01:08 PM »
Just wanted to post that today I had a puncture in my 16 inch Jazz Si wheel and from reading the forums here I found that I could use a Rover 25 Space Saver. Luckily mine arrived from ebay last week, so that was lucky!

The Rover 25 Wheel cost me £25 and works/fits fine.

I don't know what happened to the tyre, will find out Tuesday. The other 3 tyres have not lost any pressure. Maybe a pot hole? Plenty of them where I live! Will post an update soon when know the cause.

This is what cost me £73... made a huge gash in the tyre and was sitting inside when the wheel was removed. Grr

That's a nice bit of metal and demonstrates why some of us don't like being dependent on a can of gunk to get us home.

My fear is that something similar will happen to me on a quiet road where the phone doesn't work.

I would also note that I will have a decent sized spanner in the boot because often whatever is provided in the tool kit doesn't have enough size and strength to loosen the nuts.

I totally agree. This is why I had to get the spare wheel. Regarding the wheel wrench, the one that came with the jazz worked fine so can confirm that no extra tools are necessary.

Hi,  I used a rover 25 space saver for my jazz mk2, and have driven on it with no problems

Got one off eBay

You need 125/80 R15 95M

I have heard the corsa tyre works too but not used.

depends who tightened the nuts last, and how long ago.  I always carry a telescopic wrench, opens out from 300 to 600mm long,  use short length to tighten and long length to remove nuts - don't cost much and come with reversible 17 and 19mm full hexagon socket (picture attached).

no good having a spare wheel if you can't get the old one off,  I broke an OEM wrench once trying to get nuts off that had been put on by a bloke with tattoos and an air wrench at tyre fitters.

I wouldn't fit a Vauxhall part to a Honda,  some of the unreliability may rub off onto your Jazz :-X

Yes, it's lots of space for full size wheel---- I use a Rover  alloy wheel with a 175/65 15 tyre as a spare which fits in the hole under the floor in the back of the car.
