honda i shift clutch life
« on: June 21, 2013, 12:09:34 PM »
Has anyone out there experience of the expected life of the clutch on a jazz with I-shift gearbox?
MY 2009 EX has now covered 27000 miles and I am noticing a slight judder when starting away from rest.
On a manual car one would normally put it into neutral whilst stopped in traffic but with the I-shift the clutch will be engaged with wear to the thrust bearing will it not?
On a manual car I have never replaced a clutch even at higher mileages but with this I am not sure

Clutch judder doesn't come from the release bearing, it will be a fault with the center plate, pressure plate or flywheel.
Also worn clutches don't (generally) judder. I would be surprised if it was worn. I suspect it has a fault. My guess is it is the same issue I had with my manual and that it is the flywheel.
