Rear arch rolling?
« on: June 05, 2013, 07:52:35 PM »
I've got 16 inch 7j rims with 195/45's on, I've recently purchased bc coilovers. Just wanted to know if anyone's had problems with rubbing on the rear or if anyone knows if there's a way to roll the rear arches as it doesn't look very straight forward. Any help would be appreciated !

I rolled mine myself, was the same as every other car. You'll get more rubbing from the plastic arch liner than anything else.

Cheers guys! Loving the new bc v1 coilovers, just trying to get used to going 10mph over speed bumps lol. Looking forward to having my arches rolled so I don't have to listen to that horrible noise when I take a corner to fast.

i find the bumper mount is where i rub the most, there is a chunky piece of plastic that holds the bumper tight to the car, i chopped that down, and removed all my rubbing issues.

Have you got them rolled yet?

Yeh I had the owner of arch enemy come and roll them a few months back. He said the main problem on the rear is that screw mount and plastic bit that fastens the bumper to the body stick out quite a bit. He took the screw out and and replaced it with thin cable ties. If it really bugs you then a bit of cutting might be in order. I also have my rear dampers set to +20 clicks to stop the wheels from traveling upwards. I wouldn't of thought 15's would be too much of a problem, what profile tyre have you got on?

I took mine to a local garage for my arches.
The front only needed a little bit of cutting of the plastic and folding in the metal taps.
But the rear i had that screw taken out too, and some cutting of metal and grinding to create more space, still rubs but not carrying heavy load much so ain't messed with it since.
But the wheels are 15x7, and the rear profile are 185/55/15 and front is 175/50/15 i think.

what size are your wheels and tyres?

I had the same done to my front arches, the guy said there were to many weak points in the fender to be able to do a full roll. I've got 195/45/16 x 7" on all 4 but its odd that you still rub, even though my wheels are an inch bigger, with the profiles we have, our wheel diameter is pretty much the same. My rear only rubs when I go over speed bumps too fast and when I have a full load in the back. The only thing I can think of is the offset of your wheels. Gd's don't handle low offset very well.

Yeah I think its the offset of the wheels. When I had 16x7 wheels before I had no problems with rubbing of rear arch. Do you have instagram, if you do check out @clubjazzuk

Just checked the rota shop uk, 20 offset right? It makes your wheel stick out a little bit more. I see your pics at south mimms. I had no idea there was a meet, I would of come if I knew as I'm only 2 junctions away on the m25. How about you?

I was actually thinking of getting the same wheels in 16 x 8 and stretching the tyres but I'm lucky I didn't now because there would of been no chance of them fitting lol. I think I will come to the next meet, would be cool to see some other modified jazz's.
